Degree Project: Automatic Seed Sowing Agricultural Robotic Machine

Automatic Seed Sowing Agricultural Robotic Machine
                                             ABSTRACT
This presents a system with high speed of operation for an advanced agriculture process which includes cultivation based on robotic platform. The robotic system is an electromechanical and artificial agent which is steered by DC motor which has four wheels. The farm is cultivated by the machine, depending on the crop considering particular rows & specific columns.
The infrared sensor detects the obstacles in the path and it also senses turning position of vehicle at end of land. The seed block can be detected and solved using water pressure. The machine can be controlled remotely and solar panel is used to charge DC battery. Assembly language is used in programming the microcontrollers. The microcontroller is used to control and monitor the process of system motion of vehicle with the help of DC motor. The result of implemented unit is also presented.  Keywords Agriculture Robots, Seed block mechanism, Solar panel, DC motor and Microcontroller [1].

 1.1 Problem Statement:
There are number of techniques for sowing the crops. But these techniques have some disadvantages like: By using manual sowing technique, the required man power is more. Time required is more using manual techniques. Also the sowing is done by using tractor but by using tractor more wastage of seeds occurs. Energy required to complete the work is also very high. By using tractors more pollution occurs such as air pollution. The size and weight of such machinery is high. So such sowing instruments are very expensive.

           1.2 Introduction:
In the current generation most of the countries do not have sufficient skilled man power specifically in agricultural sector and it affects the growth of developing countries. So it’s a time to automate the sector to overcome this problem. In India there are 70% people dependent on agriculture. Innovative idea of our project is to automate the process of sowing crops such as sunflower, baby corn, groundnut and vegetables like beans, lady’s finger, pumpkin and pulses like black gram, green gram etc & to reduce the human effort and increase the yield. The plantation of seeds is automatically done by using DC motor. The distance between the two seeds are controlled and varied by using Microcontroller. It is also possible to cultivate different kinds of seeds with different distance. When the Robot reaches the end of the field we can change the direction with the help of remote switches. The whole process is controlled by Microcontroller [1].

1.4 Methodology:
The four sensors are used like IR sensor, block sensor, Empty sensor &Proximity sensor.IR  sensor used for detecting the obstacle, Seed block sensor consist two advanced seed plantation machine consists of three storage hopers in which the seeds to be planted are stored. Below the hopers rotary drums are provided. It is having hole throughout. In which LDR type sensor which detects the blockage in cultivation pipe by using nand gate, Proximity sensor i.e. Metal detector detects one complete rotation of tire wheel.
The microcontroller acts as central processing unit of the system. When it receives the start command from the keyboard, then barrier motor starts, the machine starts moving in the forward direction. Near to the tire wheel a proximity sensor is provided. During one complete rotation of the tire, the sensor provides one logic pulse. This logic pulse goes to the switching circuit, then to the microcontroller. It is expected that the rotor will rotate once after receiving one pulse. One seed is dropped that directly goes to ground. Then the soil is spread over the seed so that the seed properly goes below the soil.
Before the seed is dropped proper digging line is also formed with the help of a projection provided. It is a self driven barrier with geared DC motors. The DC voltage is provided to motors. Out of four wheels the two wheels are provided with motor drive and two wheels is driven automatically one more dc motor is provided to rotate the rotary drum. If the front tire complete one cycle, then the drum rotate and plant seed. The operation will be repeated. The number of seeds planted will be shown on LCD display [1].

TE: Object Counter Using IR Sensor And IC555.

People / Object counter circuit have a wide variety of applications in Banks, Hospitals, factories etc. This project focuses on building an effective counter using IR as a sensing element and capable of counting from 0 to 99. This project uses Two simple IC’s ( IC 555 & IC 4026 ) with IR transmitter and Receiver to detect the incoming people/object.
Counters with directional detection are useful for counting of objects moving along a predefined path. These may find application as visitor counters and also for counting of objects. Here we present a simple circuit that counts the number of persons or the objects entering the premises. The counter section consists of two IR LEDs & IR receiver as detectors. The movement of objects including the direction of their movement is detected by the arrangement of the IR LED and IR Receiver detector pairs. The IR Receiver of each pair is mounted opposite to its corresponding IR LED fall directly on the IR Receiver detect.
Description
To understand its working how we can interface 4026 with 7 segment display, first have to  look on its pin diagram -
Image result for cd4046
Now let us understand the working of individual pins-
1. Pin 1 or clock pin- It receives clock signals, and at every positive clock and  counter advances one by one. You can provide clock with the switch, 555 timer or with the help of logic gates. In short high pulse on this input increments the counter.
2. Pin 2 or disable clock (clk inhibit) pin- 4026 counter advances one by one by receiving positive pulse at this time for this clock inhibit pin should be grounded. If it is connected to supply than counter advancement will be inhibited means there will be no meaning of clock pulse.
3. Pin 3 or enable display (En in) pin- It enable the 7 segment display to display the numeric value. It should be kept high for enabling the display. Mean output goes high when only when display enable is high.
4. Pin 4 or enable out- It Enables the carry out pin. In our circuit we have left this pin unconnected.
5. Pin 5 or divide by 10 output- It is used to complete one cycle for every 10 clock input cycle and it also used to cascade more IC's.
6.Pin 6, pin7 and Pin9 to pin 13 - These are 7 decoded output from a to g used to illuminates the corresponding segment of 7 segment display to display the digit from 0 to 9.
7. Pin 14 or not 2 output (UNGATED "C" SEGMENT) signals- They are not gated by the Display clock and therefore are available continuously. This feature is a requirement in implementation of certain divider function such a as divide by 60 and divide by 12.
8. Pin 15 or Reset pin- It is used to reset the counter. When it receives high it clears the counter and counting again starts from zero. One important thing reset pin should again made low to start the counter once again.
9. Pin 8 or ground pin and Pin 16 known or Vdd it should be connected to power supply.

Diploma Project: SMS Based Wireless Electronic Notice Board using GSM (2013-14)

                                                                 ABSTRACT
Notice Board is primary thing in any institution / organization or public utility places like bus stations, railway stations and parks. But sticking various notices day-to-day is a difficult process. A separate person is required to take care of this notices display. This project deals about an advanced hi-tech wireless notice board.
The project is built around the AT89S52 micro controller from Atmel. This micro controller provides all the functionality of the display and wireless control. It also takes care of creating different display effects for given text.
Display is obtained on 20X4 LED Matrix Display Array on a printed circuit board. A GSM/CDMA Mobile Can is used to enter the required text or notice. The scrolling speed of the text also can be changed according to user requirement.
After entering the text the SMS is sent to the no which is connected to the LED display. At any time the user can add or remove or alter the text according to his requirement.
At the receiving end the GSM modem which is connected to the Max 232 receives the message and is connected to the microcontroller AT89S52. The message which is already stored in the EEPROM is displayed on the LED Matrix Display Array.
This project uses regulated 5V, 500mA power supply. 7805 three terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac output of secondary of 230/12V step down transformer.
